A deadly shooting on a Metro bus in west Houston has claimed the life of a young woman and injured another passenger. The suspect who fired first and caused the fatal injury has been charged with murder, while the second person, identified as 18-year-old Patrick Scott, is facing charges for unlawfully carrying a firearm.

According to court records, Scott was out on bond for aggravated robbery at the time of the shooting. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at 10800 Richmond Avenue, and Scott's accomplice allegedly fired back, injuring another passenger.

Family members have identified Caitlin Stup, 25, as the woman who lost her life in the shooting. She was reportedly a victim of circumstance, simply traveling to work when she became caught up in the violent incident. Authorities described her as an innocent bystander.

The Metropolitan Transit Authority (METRO) released surveillance footage showing two suspects matching Scott's description, which led to his arrest. The second suspect is still at large but has been taken into custody pending further investigation.

As news of the tragedy spread, officials condemned the senseless act of violence. "This was a tragic and senseless act of violence, and our thoughts remain with everyone affected by this devastating incident," METRO stated in a statement.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, but authorities are working to piece together the events leading up to the tragedy.

Just got word from a reliable source that the suspect who fired first was totally unhinged and had been stalking Caitlin Stup for days... I mean, I don't know if this is true but allegedly he had sent her creepy messages on social media beforehand . Anyway, it's clear that Scott's accomplice was just along for the ride . The question remains why they chose to pick a random bus with like 50 people on it... wasn't there better place to make their "statement"?
