Bears players are 'born to dislike the Packers,' whether they grow up with the rivalry or not

Bears players are born to dislike the Packers, whether they grow up with the rivalry or not. For some, like Bears tight end Cole Kmet, the intensity of the matchup is a familiar feeling. His sister Frankie, dating Packers defensive end Lukas Van Ness, has been a point of contention between them.

Kmet joked about sending her tickets to the game without responding to anything else, preferring that she wouldn't ask him about his favorite team. His reasoning was that the Packers fans wanted better seats than those given to visiting players. The sibling rivalry runs deep, with Kmet's sister seemingly more supportive of her partner than her brother.

However, for others, like Jayden Reed and DJ Moore, the rivalry is a bit more complicated. Reed, born in Chicago and raised in Aurora, initially grew up admiring his fellow Pro Football Hall of Famer Devin Hester. His favorite player was another legendary return specialist, Walter Payton. The Packers took him in the second round of the 2023 draft, changing everything.

"We're going to be there, believe me," Reed said about their upcoming game. Despite being part of a team that once represented his hometown, he still feels a connection to Chicago and the Bears.

The rivalry has been building for decades. The teams first met in 1921 when the Packers joined the American Pro Football Association. Over time, familiarity bred discontent. Familiarity also led the current players not to grow up with the rivalry. But with training camp comes an education about the heated history of this relationship.

Bears defensive tackle Grady Jarrett expressed his enthusiasm for the matchup. The rivalry is what makes it great, he said. Two games that went all the way down to the last play have two fan bases and locker rooms that don't care too much for each other.

Some players are born into this kind of rivalry. Jayden Reed can attest to that. However, others were once part of the opposing team before finding their way back home.

For Bears defensive tackle Jonathan Ford, being drafted by the Packers came with an unexpected twist. He was cut from the team and eventually claimed by Chicago in December. Knowing his way around Lambeau Field, he feels like he's gained a deeper understanding of the rivalry.

This match-up will be memorable, and some might even say epic. The intensity of this particular rival is unlike any other, according to Bears safety Jaquan Brisker. The rivalry makes it special.

The history runs deep, with roots that date back decades. This season has been marked by a series of last-second heroic plays between the two teams. For Kmet and Van Ness, their sister's boyfriend will be right in his face as they clash on the field.

Ultimately, Bears players are indeed born to dislike Packers fans - or is it the other way around?

I gotta say, this rivalry is REAL 🔥🏈. I mean, can you blame Jayden Reed for feeling all that Chicago pride after being drafted by the Packers? It's like, they took him away from his hometown and put him in a new situation. And now he's got to face his old 'hood on the field... talk about tension 😬.

But at the same time, I think it's awesome how some players are embracing their roots and rocking that Bears pride. Cole Kmet's joke about sending Frankie tickets without responding is EVERYTHING 🤣. And Grady Jarrett saying the rivalry makes it great? Yaaas, I'm with him on that one 👍.

This game is gonna be EPIC, no question. The history between these two teams runs deep, and it's gonna be a clash of the titans. I love how the Bears are owning their rivalry and having fun with it. It's all about that Chicago pride 💪🏈.

omg u guys idk how much i hate this packers vs bears rivalry 🤯 its like my emotions can't even handle it anymore lol cole kmet's sister dating lukas van ness tho is just the icing on the cake, my heart cant take it!!! 💔 meanwhile, jayden reed and dj moore are lowkey still trying to figure out how they went from loving bears to being packers 🤷‍♂️ i mean, can u blame them tho? the history between these two teams is just so rich and intense, its like a never ending story of pride and hate ❤️ meanwhile, grady jarrett is all about embracing that rivalry and making it great lol who else is hyped for this game?! 🎉

The rivalry between the Bears and Packers is a whole different level 🤯. You can tell when these guys grow up with it, like Cole Kmet, and when they don't, like Jayden Reed. I think that's what makes it so intense 💪. These players have been through the wringer, either playing for the team or against them, but now they're back in a familiar setting. It's gonna be a wild ride 🎢! The Bears have got some talented guys who are hyped about the game, like Grady Jarrett and Jaquan Brisker. They know this rivalry is what makes it special 🔥.

Omg I'm so down for this game 🤩! Like literally who else can say they've got family drama to go with their rivalry? Cole Kmet's sister dating Lukas Van Ness and all that jazz... talk about added pressure! 😂 But seriously though, it's cool how some players like Jayden Reed have a personal connection to the city and team. He was born in Chicago and raised in Aurora, so I can see why he'd wanna represent his hometown. 💕 And yeah, Grady Jarrett makes a point that this rivalry is what makes it special... two teams with such intense history! 🔥

⚡️ I think its more like both ways. Like Cole Kmet jokes about sending tickets without talking about it, but hes still got a lot of hate for the Packers from his sister Frances connection. And then there are guys like Jayden Reed who were born and raised in Chicago but ended up being drafted by Green Bay. For him, its complicated, I feel him. But at the same time, players like Grady Jarrett say the rivalry makes it great, so I guess you can see both sides of it 🤔

🤔 I was just watching this crazy video of a sloth going through its morning routine and I couldn't help but think about how some humans are actually pretty slow when it comes to adapting to new situations... like Jayden Reed, for instance. He grew up loving the Packers, but now he's all about the Bears. That must be kinda weird for him, right? 🐻👀

🤔 think this rivalry is super unique... you got some players who grew up loving one team then get drafted by another & have a change of heart 🔄 like Jayden Reed, he's still got love for ChiTown & the Bears despite playing for Green Bay. Others are more passionate about Packers fandom 💙 but at the same time, can't help feeling that rivalry energy when they're on the field 🔥 makes it all so intense! also gotta respect how deep this history is - been building up for decades 📆
