Ugh, what's the point of making cars 'emissions-free' by 2035 if you're just gonna pull out of EV investments? GM's all about being flexible now, but that sounds like code for "we lost faith in our own plans". I mean, who expects a change in tax incentives and emissions regulations to suddenly make everyone want EVs less? It's like they're saying "oh no, we made a mistake, let's just scale back our goals instead of actually making it happen".
man I feel bad for gm they're making some tough calls here. i think it's crazy how the gov't is messing with their plans , first trump comes along and then biden just reverses course. what's the point of having a plan if you're gonna keep changing it?
anyway, gm's trying to adapt and that's real talk they're not gonna ignore the market just 'cause some gov'ts have different ideas . and honestly, i think the gov't should be supporting companies like gm more instead of holding them back
I mean, what's the point of even investing in electric vehicles if the government's just gonna roll back all the incentives? It's like GM's playing a game of whack-a-mole, trying to adapt to every change in policy . I get it, consumer demand slowed down, but come on, that was supposed to be the future! Now they're just eating their losses and moving on. I hope Mary Barra's got a solid excuse for why she didn't just stick with the plan... or a sweet severance package
I THINK GM IS PLAYING IT SAFE BY CUTTING BACK ON EV INVESTMENTS, BUT I FEEL BAD FOR THE PLANET . THEY HAD THOSE PLANS TO GO FULLY EMISSIONS-FREE BY 2035 AND NOW IT SEEMS LIKE THAT'S BEING PUT ON HOLD. I HOPE THEY DON'T JUST GIVE UP ON EVs COMPLETELY, BUT AT LEAST THEY'RE ADMITTING THE MARKET DEMAND ISN'T AS HOT AS THEY THOUGHT .
OMG I just got the most expensive phone bill ever like how can companies afford such huge losses? And I was thinking, if they're really worried about climate change shouldn't they be investing more in electric vehicles? I mean, what's the point of having a 2035 goal if you're not even committed to it anymore?
I'm surprised GM made this move . I mean, they had big plans for EVs but it looks like the demand just wasn't there. It's like everyone was so sure electric cars were gonna take over the world and then... nothing happened . Now they're just taking a hit on their investments. I'm curious to see how this plays out for the other US automakers - are they gonna follow suit?
