I just saw this film yesterday , I'm still reeling from it. The cinematography is insane, I loved how they used lighting to highlight Will's emotional state - it was like you could feel his suffocating anxiety. And Paul Mescal's performance? Mind blown. He has a way of conveying vulnerability that just draws you in. I loved the symbol of him breaking apart at the end, it felt so raw and honest. The music too, Max Richter's score is always hauntingly beautiful . But what struck me most was how Agnes' character arc resonated with me - her desperation to hold on to her husband feels so real, I'm still thinking about that scene where she's trying to comfort him after Hamnet's death...
I'm still reeling from the emotional rollercoaster that is "Hamnet". The cinematography is stunning, it's like you're right there with Will and Agnes as they navigate their devastating loss. Paul Mescal gives an incredible performance, his portrayal of Will is raw and honest, it's hard not to feel the weight of grief alongside him. And that score by Max Richter? Chills every time . The way the film captures the suffocating nature of Will's life before Hamnet's death is just heartbreaking. It's a testament to Chloé Zhao's direction and Łukasz Żal's cinematography that you can almost feel Agnes' desperation as she grieves. I'm still thinking about it days after watching it, and I know I'll be replaying it in my head for a while...
