I'm low-key surprised that Greenland is even on the US radar, fam I mean, sure, it's got some sweet mineral resources and strategic location, but do they really think taking over the whole island would be a good idea? Like, Denmark has been managing it just fine for centuries, no need to disrupt that vibe

And honestly, I don't trust Trump's reasoning on this one. Is he really planning to use Greenland as some kinda secret military base or something? Wouldn't that be, like, super obvious? And what about the impact on NATO and regional stability? That's just gonna cause more drama, imo

I think Denmark should just stick with their original plan and update the defense agreement to let the US have a stronger presence. At least that way they're not threatening anyone's sovereignty Plus, it'd be way less chaotic than a full-on takeover

i mean, danish prime minister mette frederiksen is straight up telling trump that takeovers are off the table and trump's all like "oh noes, nato is gonna collapse" anyway, wouldn't it be cool if we could have a neutral observer in the arctic region? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arctic_Council

Newsflash, dude: it's not that simple. First off, Denmark would never let the US just take over their territory, no way. And even if we did manage to do something crazy like invade Greenland by force (which is super unlikely, btw), what's next? Is everyone gonna start declaring independence and making up their own countries all over the Arctic? That'd be chaos!

And let's not forget about NATO, man. Trump's always talking about how we're the greatest military power in the world, but if he tries to take control of Greenland without everyone's permission, that's just gonna ruin the whole alliance thing. Not to mention all the diplomatic headaches and tension it'd cause between us and our European friends .
