The Electrical Spectacle Light Show, a staple of the square's winter festivities, has kicked off its refreshed edition. Every 30 minutes from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursdays through Sundays, the park is bathed in hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights, choreographed to festive winter tunes. Chilly Philly Mini Golf has also gotten into the holiday spirit, decked out for winter until January 25th before switching to a LOVE-themed course featuring seasonal décor and music alongside miniature versions of Philadelphia landmarks. Tickets range from $12 for kids to free for under-twenties.

it reminds me of when i was a kid and my family would go to the christmas lights display at fairmount park every year... we'd bundle up in our warmest coats and boots and just run around taking in all the sights and sounds. now franklin square has its own version of that magic, with all these adorable fire pits and twinkling lights 
it's like stepping back into my childhood!
